With so many demands on today's families, parents need all the support they can get. That is why child care at the Y is about more than just looking after kids. Y programs are designed to nurture youth development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills; develop healthy, trusting relationships; and build self-reliance through the Y's character values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
Youth in Y Afterschool Care experience an enriching environment that combines academic enrichment, including homework support, with social-emotional development. Youth participate in engaging activities, like STEM, and our programs promote healthy lifestyles through nutritious snacks and active play. The values and skills learned in Y programs help them become strong, capable and engaged young people.
